The Chum Salmon is another member of the five types of Pacific Salmon found in the waters around North America. The Chum Salmon is the second largest type of salmon, next to the King Salmon and is also known as the Dog Salmon. This salmon is a very unique and interesting species.

In its ocean phase, the Chum Salmon is very difficult to differentiate from the Sockeye Salmon.

After their metamorphic change to its spawning phase, the Chum Salmon exudes some of the most incredible features especially in the male species. A large kype and nose are formed, sporting large canine looking teeth as well as an incredible colour of green with dark green barring blending to an almost flame like red pattern found central on the side on the fish.

This phase is very different than its ocean phase as a spotted silver fish.

The Chum Salmon is always a shop favourite to work on, as these fish always make up beautiful displays.
