Advanced strongly supports the OFAH and has been
associated with them
for over 20 years.
Since 1928, outdoor opportunities have been saved
and improved thanks to victories by the O.F.A.H.
The Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters is
Canada's leading conservation organization.
The O.F.A.H. is a non-profit, registered charity,
dedicated to protecting woodland and wetland
habitat,
conserving our precious fish and wildlife stocks
and promoting outdoor education.
The Federation is recognized as an influential
environmental watchdog, lobbying for conservation
of our natural resources at all levels of
government.
The O.F.A.H. represents tens-of-thousands
outdoor enthusiasts and gets results for
conservation.
Together, the VOICE of Anglers and Hunters
continues to block political attacks on our
outdoor traditions
as well as animal rights campaigns that are
already targeting classrooms and the media.
When it comes to speaking up for anglers and
hunters the O.F.A.H.
is a voice to be listened to and reckoned with.
Advanced Taxidermy
& Wildlife Design have been comissioned by the
O.F.A.H. to reproduce all record fish for over
15 years. Advanced is also the official
taxidermist for
the Ontario Fish Registry.

Bob Izumi, The Real
Fishing Show
Having fished all over the world
and seeing many taxidermist’s work, I feel that
Advanced Taxidermy and
Wildlife Design do the finest work in the
industry. I have used Advanced Taxidermy
exclusively for all my
taxidermy needs, both salt and freshwater,
fish reproductions
or skin mounts. Advanced Taxidermy and
Wildlife Design are pioneers in
fiberglass fish
reproductions and with catch-and
release fishing. We share a
common goal – "working together in the
conservation of our precious fisheries". We have
shared a personal
and business relationship for over 10 years.
I know that Advanced Taxidermy
truly has a major advantage and edge over other
studios because of the
combined artistic backgrounds and knowledge of
fish. They truly have innovative designs and
concepts.
Their work shows they are true artisans, not
only with overall visual appeal, but right down
to the meticulous
detailing. Masters in their field, Advanced
Taxidermy and Wildlife Design create remarkably
realistic habitats
finished with immaculate carpentry. They take
pride in each individual entity from beginning
to end with
quality being their highest priority.
When it comes to friends and
acquaintances who truly want a piece of art, I
send them to
Shawn Galea and James McGregor of Advanced
Taxidermy and Wildlife Design.
Yours truly,

Darryl Choronzey, Going Fishing Television
Dear Boys:
With more than thirty-five years of
fishing and hunting under my belt in locations from
the Atlantic to the Pacific and from the Arctic to
South America, I believe I've come to be an expert
on what quality taxidermy is all about Bluntly put,
I've yet to find anyone who gets the job done better
than you folks at Advanced Taxidermy. In these days
of conservation and catch and release, I still enjoy
a few for the frying pan, but when it comes to
putting fishing on the wall I always look to
Advanced Taxidermy for the finest in reproductions.
Keep up the great work guys...as the
best in the business.
Yours truly,

Darryl Choronzey

Charlie Wray, The Fishful Thinking Show
Shawn & James
I just wanted to drop you a quick
line to thank you for the incredible work you did on
the last few fish I had done. Your work is simply
the very best, and each fish an individual work of
art. Even after looking at them for hours, I still
can't believe the incredible detail. I almost
expected to see them move."
Over the last 10 years, I have
seen a great number of reproduction mounts, but
nothing even close to the
attention to detail and workmanship. I wanted to
re-live that fish of a lifetime every day, and it is
worth having it done right. You make it easy to let
me trophy fish swim away, knowing that my
reproduction will look exactly like the picture,
down to the slightest variation in markings"
As soon as I have finished
remodeling the office, I will be in to see you about
your coffee table designs.
The combination of your fish reproductions, your
artwork, and the life like settings, all clearly
viewed
from any angle inside the table, will be the
perfect addition. As you know, I have seven (7) of
your reproductions now, expect to see me for several
more.
Sincerly,

Charlie Wray

During my stay in Toronto,
while playing Goalie for the Toronto Maple Leafs, I
was fortunate to have met Shawn and James of

know. Fishing is one of my favorite past times. I'm
glad to say their work graces my walls with several
of my best catches.
In my travels I've had
the opportunity to learn the difference between good
and bad taxidermy, with great confidence I can say
these guys are "THE BEST"

John P. Allen, member of
Prairie Oyster
I was fortunate enough to meet James
and Shawn through our mutual friend Bob Izumi of
Real Fishing
fame a few years ago at Inconnu Lodge, a fly-in
resort in the Yukon. Some of their amazing work is
on
display there, a huge northern pike closing in on
two arctic grayling. The display is mounted inside a
glassed-in coffee table. Most impressive.Shawn and
James have been at the leading edge of the replica
mount scene for a long time, and I think can safely
say that they have set the industry standard in
their field.
Their professionalism is top quality
and their artistry is unmatched. The work they have
provided for my
son and I will be enjoyed for many years to come.

Juno-Award winning country music group, PRAIRIE

Robert
Peters - President Ontario BASS Federation & West
Toronto Bass Masters
I have been involved with the fishing industry for
the past 32 years. I have seen other taxidermist's
work
some look great, others as most people call it just
a stuffed fish We about 9 years ago had the great
opportunity to meet Shawn and James. We talked for
several hours about different mounts and than the
conversation lead to reproduction. I heard a little
about this but was not very knowledgeable about it.
I was than told everything I was looking at was
reproduction. I laugh and said , not on your life.
After about an hour of looking at the mounts, very,
very closely I finally agreed. It was so hard to be
sure. When to my surprise Shawn said there was one
skin mount in the showroom, and could I find it.
Back to looking, I was unable to differentiate which
was which.
I had at that time some 25 skin mounts in my
collection that were oozing oils, broken fins, bad
paint jobs, well if you ever had a fish mounted than
you know what I mean. I was told to bring them in
and they would if possible fix them up. So if you
have ever been to my house than you will know that
if Advanced can fix it, you will have a work of art
not just a fish. They reworked all my pieces and now
I have a show room full of great looking mounts.
Until I had them do a reproduction of my 20 lbs.
lake trout caught in the Yukon. It had so many
vermiculations on it, it almost looked unreal, but
on the end of my line I know it was not. I took
several dozen pictures of the fish for colour
records, and if you have ever been to the Yukon, you
know you have to release all your fish. When I
returned to Toronto, over I went to Advanced to show
them my pictures and weight. Complete with
measurements, length, and girth. The day came and
over I went to see my fish. Without telling them
anything I moved to my fish with a picture that had
a good clear view of one of the spots shaped like a
"C" just behind the gill. Well to my surprise the
spot was there , so out comes another picture with a
spot shaped like the a "Z" just at the tail behind
the adipose fin, I was amazed the mark was there
again. I was astounded that that much detail was
taken for a single fish that they were not sure if I
had ever seen these spots. From that day on I would
only have work done by Advanced.
Since they have done an Owl, Wolf rug, Bear rug,
plus several birds again all works of art.
For the people that know me, know that I own 2
largest reproduction bass in the world, they have
been on TV. newspapers and featured at several trade
shows in Ontario Of course these reproductions were
done by Advanced. These fish have complete throats
in them, which were sculpted after the fish were
made. I was impressed.
For those of you that think Advance is expensive,
well you had better think again. I want value for my
hard earned money and I want the item to last,
Advanced gives this to me, plus anatomically correct
fish, life like mammals, and the birds look as if
they are still flying or are ready to pounce on my
cat.
For those of you who do not have a Advanced piece
of art then you had better take your catch of a
lifetime or your shoot of a life time to Advanced so
you can pass it down to your kids, and they can pass
it on to theirs. Not throw it out because it is an
eye sore.
Good fishing or hunting, help keep your sport alive
by catching your limit, and limiting your catch.
Practice catch and release.
Sincerely yours,
Robert Peters - President Ontario BASS Federation &
West Toronto Bass Masters

Being a fisherman my whole life, I’ve been lucky to
have some great catches. It’s important to hold onto
these memories in whatever way you can. For me it’s been
mounts. Advanced taxidermy, in my opinion, is the best
in their field and that’s why I keep returning to them
to forever capture these memories of my best catches.
Shawn and James, thanks a bunch. You guys are the best.
